Our Exciting Opportunity
- As Market Area GIR manager in West Africa, this role is responsible to support on creating a legislative and regulatory environment for Ericsson’s and our customers’ business through thought leadership and trusted advice. And to help influence governments, authorities and industry organizations, in policies, legislation and regulations for ICT and trade to secure Ericsson business.
- The position reports to the Market Area Head of GIR.

You Will
- Activate Policy Influencing capabilities for ICT policies, legislation and regulations
- Contribute to Ericsson regional and global internal GIR networks
- Build and maintain relations and position brand towards GIR target groups, politicians, government authorities, regulators, embassies, trade, business and industry organizations
- Participate/Represent Market area in external Industry/GIR bodies
- Contribute to Ericsson regional and global internal GIR networks
- Promote external regulatory positions
- Support strategic regulatory outlook
- Support on request to the Ericsson strategy process with regulatory expertise
- Support on developing local GIR influencing plans aligned with Ericsson regulatory objectives
- Find/utilize GIR influencing opportunities
- Cooperate with Customer units to support regulatory and policy issues in the Customer dimension
- Organize and drive initiatives, workshops or activities to drive the GIR agenda with GIR partners.
- Identify and describe GIR topics of key importance to Ericsson and its customers
- Formulate objectives, drive activities and metrics for identified topics
- Coordinate with marketing to increase impact of regulatory topics.

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience from leading virtual teams
- Experience from working in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
You should also have:
- Post-secondary degree in Law, Business Administration, Science or a similar area, or corresponding acquired skills/knowledge
- Broad, general ICT industry competence
- Highly developed understanding of national policies, regulations and legislation, and associated processes and actors
- Highly developed understanding of regional and global policies, regulations and legislation, processes and actors; where relevant
- Good understanding of relationships and influences between national, regional and global policies/regulations and processes
- Ability to identify, analyze and describe significance of regulatory (and related policy) initiatives and trends to the telecom market in general and to Ericsson’s customers and business in particular
- Ability to identify regulatory-induced business opportunities and constraints
- Strategic utilization of influencing and lobbying skills based on effective communication and active engagement.
