How to find graduate jobs without falling for scams
Where real graduate hiring usually appears, and the signs of a fake recruiter.
Start with the employer’s own website. Large organisations in Nigeria and abroad publish graduate programmes on their career portals. A screenshot on social media is not an application channel.
Search the company name plus “careers”. Compare the domain with the site you already trust. A form that asks you to pay for a job, a shortlist or a “processing fee” is a stop sign. Legitimate employers do not sell interviews.
Keep a simple tracker: organisation, role, official URL, deadline, and what you sent. When a deadline is not on the official page, do not guess it.
If a message arrives on WhatsApp from someone claiming to be HR, go back to the official careers page and apply there, or ignore it. You can report a suspicious listing on JobsandSchools when you are signed in.
